Setting up your ring
In short: the ScoreTap Ring is a ₱1,900 Bluetooth ring you wear on your finger. It pairs like any Bluetooth remote and is bound to Point Blue, Point Green or Undo in Settings → Remote buttons → Learn. You never have to look at or touch your phone mid-rally.
What you need
- The ScoreTap Ring (₱1,900). A Bluetooth ring with a single button, sized to wear on the court.
- A phone, tablet or laptop running ScoreTap (Google Play, App Store or web app).
- Optionally a stand or a TV so everyone can see the score.
Set-up in five steps
- Pair the ring with your phone. Hold the ring's button until its light blinks, then connect it in your phone's Bluetooth settings, exactly like a headset.
- Open ScoreTap and start a game. Open the installed app or play.scoretap.app and tap which team serves first.
- Open Settings, then Remote buttons. Tap the gear icon, then Remote buttons. You will see three actions: Point Blue, Point Green and Undo.
- Press Learn, then tap the ring. Tap Learn next to an action, then tap the ring. ScoreTap binds it instantly. Repeat for the other actions.
- Score from anywhere on the court. Tap the ring after each rally. The scoreboard updates and the announcer speaks the call. Keep the app in the foreground.
Recommended layout
Most players bind the ring's single button to Undo or the score of the team they are watching, and keep a second, cheap Bluetooth remote (or the on-screen tap) for the other side. Any combination works: the binding is yours to choose in Learn mode.
Platform notes
Android
The ring's press arrives while the app is in the foreground. If a music app grabs it first, pause that app.
iPhone and iPad
iOS only forwards remote presses to a page with an active media session. ScoreTap therefore loops a near-silent, generated audio clip while a match runs. It is not audible, it is not a recording, and it stops when the match ends. Keep the app in the foreground.
Prefer your own remote?
The ring is optional. ScoreTap also works with any Bluetooth remote that sends media or keyboard keys, the cheap "bike handlebar" music controls, presenter clickers, camera shutters and Bluetooth keyboards. Volume buttons cannot be read by any app on any phone, so bind play, next or previous instead. Swipe gestures and on-screen taps always work too.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing happens when I tap the ring: confirm it is connected in Bluetooth settings, the app is in the foreground, and it was bound with Learn.
- It controls my music instead: pause or close the music app; the most recently active media session receives the press.
- The binding disappeared: mappings are stored on the device. Clearing site data or reinstalling resets them; just run Learn again.

Like any Bluetooth accessory: pair it once in your phone's Bluetooth settings, then bind its button to Point Blue, Point Green or Undo in ScoreTap's Settings using Learn mode.
Do I have to buy the ring, or will my own remote work?
The ring is the recommended way to score hands-free, but it is optional: any Bluetooth remote that sends media or keyboard keys works too, including cheap "bike handlebar" music remotes and presenter clickers.
Does the ring work on iPhone?
Yes. iOS only delivers remote presses to a page with an active media session, so ScoreTap plays a silent, generated audio clip while a match is running. Keep the app in the foreground and do not mute Safari's tab.
Can I still score with swipes or a keyboard instead of the ring?
Yes. Swipes on each court side score a point, and any keyboard key can be taught in the same Learn screen, which makes wireless keyboards and clickers work on laptops and TVs.
