Short version: ScoreTap does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party software development kit (SDK) in the app. The only information the app stores is your own sport choice, game settings, remote-control button mapping and language preference, saved on your own device.
1. Who we are
ScoreTap, published in the app stores as Pickleball Remote Scoreboard, is developed and published by AlgoFlamingo. Questions about this policy or the app can be sent to algoflamingo@gmail.com.
2. Scope
This policy covers the app on every platform it ships on: the Android app on Google Play, the iOS app on the App Store, and the web app at play.scoretap.app. It also covers this website, https://scoretap.app.
3. Data we collect
We collect none of the following, at any time, on any platform:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers or any other contact information
- Location data
- Photos, contacts or files from your device
- Advertising identifiers or device identifiers used for tracking
- Usage analytics, crash logs sent to a server, or behavioural tracking of any kind
- Payment or financial information (the app has no purchases)
- Audio recordings (see "Microphone" below)
4. What is stored, and where
The app stores a small amount of data using your device or browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device: it is not uploaded, synced or visible to AlgoFlamingo or anyone else.

Uninstalling the app, or clearing site data if you use the web version, permanently deletes this information. There is no cloud backup and no account to recover it from.
5. Microphone
ScoreTap does not use the microphone and does not request microphone permission. The app speaks the score aloud to you and, during a live match, plays a silent keep-alive clip to support Bluetooth remotes (see Section 6). In both cases it plays audio outward; it never records or listens.
6. On-device features (not data collection)
- Speech synthesis (text-to-speech): your phone's or browser's own built-in voice reads the score call aloud after each rally in your choice of 9 languages (English (US), English (UK), German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, and Vietnamese). No audio or text is sent anywhere; synthesis happens live on your device using voices already installed on it.
- Silent Media Session audio (for optional Bluetooth remotes): while a match is in progress the app plays a roughly one-second, near-silent, synthesised audio clip in a loop. This exists only because iOS requires a page to have an active media session before it will deliver button presses from a Bluetooth remote to the app. The clip is generated on your device in JavaScript, plays no music or spoken content, is not audible in normal use, and stops as soon as the match ends or the app leaves the foreground. It does not use the microphone and nothing about it is sent anywhere.
- Screen wake lock: keeps the display on during a game so the screen does not dim mid-match. This does not track how the device is used.
- Haptics (native app only): brief vibration feedback on scoring events, generated locally.
7. Network use
The app is designed to work fully offline. Aside from the initial download or install (or the first page load for the web version, and later update checks by the browser's service worker), ScoreTap makes no network requests, contacts no servers and loads no remote content while you use it.
8. This website
https://scoretap.app is a static website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no third-party scripts. Your language choice for the site is remembered in your browser's local storage only. Our hosting provider may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and operational purposes; we do not use these to identify visitors.
9. Third parties
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs. We do not share data with third parties because we do not collect any to share. Google Play and the Apple App Store may collect information as part of the download and update process under their own privacy policies.
10. Children's privacy
ScoreTap is a general-audience scorekeeping tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because the app does not collect personal information from any user.
11. Your rights and choices
- Mute voice announcements and the win chirp at any time with the sound toggle in the app.
- Reset your remote-button mapping, sport choice and game settings by clearing the app's local storage or reinstalling the app.
- No sign-up, sign-in or personal profile is ever required to use any feature.
- Because we hold no personal data about you, requests under the GDPR, CCPA or similar laws to access, correct or delete data will always be answered with "we hold none". You may still write to us at any time.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy at this same address. Material changes (for example if the app ever began collecting data it does not collect today) will also be reflected in the app's store listing update notes.
September 7, 2026: policy republished at https://scoretap.app/privacy for the ScoreTap brand and the new website; Section 8 added to describe the website. No new category of data is collected.
